"Here are all the covers of the published issues of my comics zine, SCAN, published back in the 1980s - and some full issues, too. We started at Issue 26 and planned to work backwards, but this confused readers (and our distributors, Paul Gravett and Peter Stanbury at Fast Fiction).

"But in an act of rebellion (besides stealing the name of the comic from the name of the local University's student magazine - they never noticed) we jumped to Issue 36 and proceeded from there.

"Subscribers and supporters included Alan Moore, David Lloyd, Richard Starkings, Bryan Talbot, Mike Collins and many others.

"A tip of the hat, too, to the late John Vincent, a life cut short - and with it, plans for a much bigger comics project. Wherever he is, you are missed.

"Thanks also to co-conspirator Matt Bingham, who cofounded the thing.

"Do note that some humour featured is 'of its time' and may be received differently today, and might certainly be presented now in ways reflecting a much-changed society, and attitudes. In other words, please don't beat me."
